Browsing Days and Bins content

Modified on Fri, 12 Jun 2020 at 10:31 AM

In Dailies Rooms

You can use the Days and  Bins (along with other filters) to reduce the Media Pool to the sole media you are looking for. Days and Bins are displayed in two separate columns.

Selecting a Day or a Bin makes:

  • the relative column becomes the primary one. A yellow line appears above the footer representing this state.
  • the Media Pool reduces to the media belonging to the selection only.

Selecting more elements of the primary column expands the Media Pool.

Selecting an element from the secondary column reduces the Media Pool to the corresponding intersection of the primary column chosen items, and the secondary ones.

IMPORTANT: This has the same behavior whether starting from Days or Bins columns.

To reset filters to default state, click on the Reset button (circle arrow icon) under the columns toolbar.

Practice in a Dailies Room

  • Select one Day first: the Day column become the primary filter, so the Bins list and the Media Pool shrink accordingly to show only the Bins and media belonging to that Day.

  • Now add more Days to your selection: the Bins list and the Media Pool will grow to show the Bins and media related to all the selected Days.

  • With one or more Days selected as the primary filter, select one or more Bins to restrict the playlist to the media contained in those Bins and Days.

  • Reset the playlist as above.

  • Select a Bin first now: conversely, the Bins column becomes the primary filter, so the Days list and the Media Pool will be reduced to only the Days and media related to that Bin.
  • Now add more Bins to your selection: the Days list and the Media Pool will grow to show the Days and media related to all the selected Bins.
  • With one or more Bins selected as the primary filter, select one or more Days to restrict the playlist to the media contained in those Days and Bins.
  • Once the Media pool is limited to the desired Days and/or Bins, you may filter and select media directly in the pool if you want to operate on specific files.

In Standard Rooms

In a Standard Room, the behavior is straightforward: there's no secondary column so you can filter through Bins only.
