Projects are the main working units in Mnemonica. Each Project is a closed space for one production or one archive. You need at least one Project to start to work.
Each Project has its own services, its own team, and its own guests.
Types of Projects
Mnemonica has two types of Project: Production and Archive. You choose the type when you create the Project. You cannot change it afterward.
| Production | Archive | |
|---|---|---|
| Use | A film or a series that you are making | A library of finished works |
| Year of production | Yes | No |
| Bottom bar | Dashboard, Rooms, Boxes, Team, Guests | Dashboard, Works, Deliveries, Gallery, Rooms, Team, Guests |
| Roles | Manager, Operator, Guest | Manager, Operator, Guest, Power Guest |
The two types share these services:
- Screening Rooms (Rooms)
- Boxes in Production Projects (Boxes) and Deliveries in Archive Projects (Deliveries)
People in a Project
In a Project, people are divided into two main groups:
- Team Members: Managers and Operators. Use the Team page to manage them.
- Guests: Guests and, in Archive Projects, Power Guests. Use the Guests page to manage them.
To see what each role can do, read About Roles.
Company Administrators create and delete Projects and assign Managers to them. For more, read Company management panel.
Find and switch Projects
To see all your Projects, click Projects in the bottom bar. Each Project has a card. The card shows the poster, the Project name, the company, the year (Production Projects), and the size.
The bar above the cards has these tools:
- All companies: filters the Projects by company, if you work with more than one company.
- Production and Archive: show only the Projects of that type.
- Search: finds a Project by name.
- Sort by and Change sorting direction: order the cards.
- Toggle table view: shows the Projects as a list.
- Update: reloads the list.
- The pencil icon (Manage projects for a company): a shortcut for Company Administrators. It lists the companies you manage.
To go to another Project when you are inside one, click the arrow next to the Project name at the top left. Choose View all projects or pick one from Recent Projects.
Project settings
To open the Project settings, use one of these ways:
- On the Projects page, click the options button (⋮) on the Project card and choose Settings.
- In the Company panel, go to Projects. Click the options button (⋮) on the Project row and choose Project Settings. Or open the Project and click the gear icon.
The Project settings window shows the Project type, Name (up to 64 characters), Year of production (Production Projects only), the poster, and the strong session setting. The type is read-only. Click Save to keep your changes.
The menu of the options button (⋮) on the Project card has two more commands:
- Purge originals: removes the original files of the Project and keeps the proxies. Read Original files management.
- Leave project: read Being part of a Project.
To remove a Project, read How to delete a Project.
Require a strong session
A Project can accept only users who run a strong session. A strong session uses a passkey or the Mnemonica mobile app. When this requirement is on, users without a strong session cannot open the Project.
To turn it on or off, use the Require a strong session switch in the Project settings. Only Company Administrators, the Owner included, can change this switch. A lock icon in the Security column of the Company panel shows which Projects have it on.
To learn more, read Strong Projects, Security basics, and How to create a Project.
