You archive a DCP (or an IMF), and you want its Package to have the correct name and its technical data without typing them. Every DCP and IMF has an ASSETMAP file that describes it. Point Mnemonica to that file when you create the Package: Mnemonica reads the DCP name from it and shows the data of the naming convention in the Inspector.

If the DCP is encrypted, you also need its DKDM: the master key that lets Mnemonica generate KDMs for cinemas. You can attach it while you create the Package.

Create the Package from the ASSETMAP

Open the dialog

Open the Work and select one Version. In the Media pool, click the add button (+). The Create a Package dialog opens.

Select the ASSETMAP

Click Import from ASSETMAP file. Select the ASSETMAP or ASSETMAP.xml file in the folder of the DCP or IMF on your computer.

Mnemonica fills in Name with the DCP or IMF name, and selects DCP or IMF as the type. Do not change the name if you want to keep the naming convention.

Attach the DKDM

If the DCP is encrypted and you have its DKDM, click Select DKDM file (.xml) under DKDM file:. Select the DKDM. The file must be an .xml file smaller than 1 MB.

You can skip this step and add the DKDM later.

Create the Package

Click Create.

Upload the files

Double-click the new Package. Upload all the files of the DCP or IMF into it.

The DKDM file: section shows for every DCP Package, also when you select the DCP type yourself.

The data in the Inspector

Select the DCP Package in the Media pool. The Inspector shows the Package type and the data that Mnemonica takes from the name, for example Film Title, Content Type, Project Aspect Ratio, Language, Audio, Resolution, Date and Standard. Your team can read the main characteristics of the DCP without opening it.

The DKDM indicator

In the Media pool, the Type column of an encrypted DCP shows a lock and a DKDM icon with a number. The number is the count of DKDMs attached to the DCP.

  • Red: the DCP has no DKDM. Mnemonica cannot generate KDMs for it. Hold the pointer over the icon to read Upload DKDM files to enable KDM generation.
  • Green: the DCP has at least one DKDM. The tooltip says KDM generation enabled.

An encrypted DCP can have more than one DKDM.

Add or remove DKDMs later

Only Team Members (Managers and Operators) can do this. Click the options button (⋮) of the encrypted DCP Package. Choose Manage DKDMs. In the Manage DKDMs dialog, upload more DKDMs or delete them. The dialog shows the validity dates of each DKDM. For the full procedure, see DKDM management.

Mnemonica can generate KDMs only for DCPs mastered with the Mnemonica distribution certificate. See DKDM management.
