You open a Work to find a file: to check its format, to confirm that it is the right master, or to send it to a distributor. When you select one or more Versions, the Media pool opens in the center of the page and the Inspector opens on the right. The Media pool lists the Packages, folders and files. The Inspector shows every detail of the item that you select.
The Media pool
The list has these columns: Name, Type, Version, Size and Date. Under each name, the path shows where the item is in its Version. Click a column title to sort by it.
- Double-click a Package or a folder to open it. Use the breadcrumb above the list to go back.
- Click Flat view to see all the files of the selected Versions in one list, without Packages and folders. Click it again to go back to the folders.
- The bottom of the panel shows the number of items and the number of selected items.
Search and filter assets
Type in Search to find assets by name. Click Filter assets to show the filters: Tags, Languages, Subtitles languages, Media info, Uploaded by and Media type. To remove all the filters, click Reset filters.
The filters search all the selected Versions. Combine them with Flat view to find, for example, every file in Italian across all the cuts.
The Inspector
The Inspector shows the details of the selected item:
- A Version, when no asset is selected: Name, Size, Created on, Post-production facility and Description.
- A Package: the Package type, the Version, the size and the creation date. A DCP Package also shows the data of its naming convention.
- A file:
- a preview, if one is available
- Asset info: container, resolution, frame rate, codecs and audio channels
- Version, Duration, Size and Created on
- Uploader and Media info tags
- Checksum
To see a video, audio or image file larger, click Open preview under the preview. When Mnemonica cannot make a preview of a file, the Inspector shows Preview not available.
The Checksum section shows the SHA-256, xxHash64 and CRC32C values of the file. Use them to verify that a copy is identical to the archived file. See File Integrity Verification (Checksums).
To make the Media pool wider, click Hide Inspector at the top right of the Media pool.
Download assets
To download one file, click its options button (⋮). Choose Download. To download a folder, a Package or many assets, select them, click the options button (⋮) in the toolbar and choose Download selected. Folders, Packages and multiple files need the Mnemonica Gate.
Export the list of assets
Click Export Media Pool in XLS in the toolbar. Mnemonica makes an .xlsx report of the assets of the selected Versions and sends it to your email.
Send assets to other users
To send assets from a Work to someone outside the Project, put them in a Delivery:
- Open the Hub and its Outgoing tab. Drag the assets from the Media pool and drop them on a Delivery (Add to this Delivery...) or on the list (Add to a new Delivery).
- Or copy the assets, open the Deliveries page and click Paste into a new Delivery in the Outgoing tab.
To complete and send the Delivery, see Send a Delivery.
