Updated

From 17 October 2026, with version 3.5, you sign in to Mnemonica in a new way. Passwords and verification codes no longer exist. You sign in with a link that Mnemonica sends to your email, or with your Google or Apple account.

Someone shared resources with you on Mnemonica, and you already have an account. The first time that you sign in after the update, you do a short onboarding. It takes about one minute. After that, you sign in in a few seconds.

The first time

Go to mnemonica.io. Type your email address and click Send me a sign-in link.

Open the email on the computer that you want to use. Click the link. It works one time, for 15 minutes.

Accept the documents

Read the Terms of Use and the Privacy Notice. Select I have read and approved for each document. Click Continue.

Choose how you sign in next time

Select Google, Apple or email. If you have a Google or Apple account, we recommend that you use it. Next time you sign in with one click, and you do not wait for an email.

Check your name

Check your display name. If you want, add a picture.

Protect your account

Mnemonica asks Is this your personal computer?

Answer Yes only if nobody else uses this computer with your account. A passkey on a shared computer lets other people open your account.

  • On your own computer: click Yes, only I use it. Create a passkey. You unlock it in the same way that you unlock your computer.
  • On a shared computer: click No, others use it too. Scan the QR code with the Mnemonica app on your phone where biometrics is enabled. To prepare the app, follow the Mobile app tab first.

If your computer cannot keep a passkey, Mnemonica asks you to scan a QR code with the app in this case too. Enable biometrics in the app first.

Mnemonica can also offer a second strong method. We recommend it: if you lose one method, you still have the other. At the end, your Projects show on your home screen.

Does your Project ask for a strong session?

Some Projects are marked Strong. An email link, Google or Apple gives a basic session, and a basic session does not open these Projects. You need a strong session: you confirm that it is you with your fingerprint, your face or your PIN.

If you protected your account in the onboarding, the device that you used has a strong session. For another device, or if you did not protect your account, do this:

  • On your phone (recommended): open the Mnemonica app. If your account already has a passkey, link the app first: see Linking the Mnemonica app. Then open the Strong Project, or open Preferences / Security. Tap Enable biometrics.
  • On a computer that only you use: sign in. At Is this your personal computer?, click Yes, only I use it. Click Add a passkey.
  • On a shared computer: do not add a passkey. On the sign-in page, click the Mnemonica App tab. Scan the QR code with the Mnemonica app on your phone where biometrics is enabled.

To learn more, read Strong Projects and Basic and strong sessions.

Every time after that
