Signing in to Mnemonica

Sign in with an email link, Google, Apple, a passkey or the Mnemonica app, on the web and on your phone.

Mnemonica has no passwords and no multi-factor authentication (MFA). You sign in with a one-time link that Mnemonica sends to your email, or with Google or Apple. Then you add a strong method: a passkey on a computer, or biometrics in the Mnemonica app on your portable device. After that, you sign in with one tap.

If you used a password or MFA before 17 October 2026: on that date, Mnemonica deletes your password and removes all your MFA methods. You do not need codes or backup codes any more. You can delete the Mnemonica entry from your authenticator app. Your email address does not change: it is still your username.

Ways to sign in

Each way to sign in gives a basic or a strong session.

Some Projects are marked Strong: they open only to a strong session. See Strong Projects.

You can always use the email link. You need only your inbox.

Open the sign-in page

Go to mnemonica.io.

Type your email address

On the Passwordless login tab, type the email address of your Mnemonica account in Email Address. Then click Send me a sign-in link.

Mnemonica sends you an email with a link.

Open the email on the computer that you want to use

Mnemonica signs in the device where you open the link. This is not always the device where you asked for the link.

The link works one time only, and only for 15 minutes.

A Mnemonica page opens. You are in, with a basic session.

Sign in with Google or Apple

If you linked a Google or an Apple account to Mnemonica, click Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. In the app, tap the same button. This is also a basic session.

Sign in with a strong method

If you have added a strong method to your account, use it to sign in. You get a strong session at once.

You can use one of two strong methods:

  • A passkey. You keep a passkey on your own computer. You use it in place of a password.
  • The Mnemonica app on your phone. You scan a QR code on the computer with the app, and you are in.

Use this on your own computer.

  1. Go to mnemonica.io.
  2. Click Use passkey.
  3. Unlock with your fingerprint, your face or your PIN, as you unlock the computer.

You are in, with a strong session.

Basic and strong sessions

To learn how you get a strong session, what each session lets you do and what to do if you lose a device, read Basic and strong sessions.
