Get a strong session on a new computer, browser, phone or tablet. A device that is already strong approves the new one.

You can be signed in to Mnemonica on several devices at the same time: your phone on set, your laptop at home, a computer at the office. Each device, and each browser, has its own session. Your phone, when it is strong, makes your laptop strong too: scan the QR code on the laptop with the app.
To open Strong Projects on a device, that device needs a strong session. Add each device one time, and it gets its own strong method: a passkey on a computer, or biometrics in the app. After that, the device signs you in with a strong session in one tap. You do not need your phone to scan a QR code each time.
More strong devices also protect you. If you lose one, sign in with another and remove the lost one. You do not need a reset.
A device that is already strong approves the new one. A strong device is a computer with your passkey, or a phone where biometrics is enabled in the Mnemonica app. Only your strong devices can approve, so a person who gets into your email cannot add a device of their own.

About the one-time code
- The code works for a few minutes and one time only.
- The code belongs to your account.
- The new device shows whose account it is. Make sure that it is yours before you confirm.
- The device that shows the code tells you: Mnemonica will never ask you for this code. Do not give the code to anybody.
From the app to the web
Sign in with the QR code
Open the sign-in page
Open the sign-in page on the computer at mnemonica.io.
Scan the QR code
Open the Mnemonica app. Scan the QR code on the page.
Add a passkey
Mnemonica asks: Is this your personal computer? If you click Yes, only I use it, you can add a passkey.
Add a passkey to a basic web session
Start in the web app
Open Preferences / Security. Select the Passkeys tab. Click Add a passkey.
Scan the QR code
Open the Mnemonica app. Scan the QR code on the page.
Approve on your phone
Approve the request with your fingerprint, your face or your PIN.
Save the passkey
Answer Is this your personal computer?. If you click Yes, only I use it, the computer saves the passkey.
From the web to the app
You use a strong web session and a phone that has the app.
Show the code on the computer
In the strong web session, click Link the Mnemonica app in the bottom bar, next to your avatar. You can also open Preferences / Security, select the API keys and devices tab and click Link the Mnemonica app. Mnemonica shows a one-time code for 2 minutes. Type the code in the app
Open the app. On the sign-in screen, select I have a code. If you are signed in to the app, tap Logout in the user menu first. Type the six-digit code. Tap Link this device.
Check the account and confirm
Make sure that the app shows your name. Tap Enable biometrics. Use your fingerprint, your face or your PIN.
From the app to another phone or tablet
For example, you add an iPad from your iPhone.
Show the code on the first device
In the app on the first device, open Preferences / Security. Tap Link another device. The app shows a one-time code for 2 minutes. If the code expires, tap New code.
Type the code on the new device
Open the app on the new device. Select I have a code. Type the code. Tap Link this device.
Enable biometrics
Check that the app shows your name. Tap Enable biometrics. Use your fingerprint, your face or your PIN. The new device has a strong method.
Questions
A passkey in iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager can appear on your other devices without Mnemonica. You do not need to do anything. The passkey works there.
Do not save a passkey on it. Scan the QR code with the Mnemonica app each time that you sign in, or use a security key. Click No, others use it too when Mnemonica asks.
You can still use a passkey. Your computer asks for the way you unlock it: a Windows Hello PIN, your Mac login password, or your password manager.
If your computer or browser cannot keep a passkey, scan the QR code with the Mnemonica app. This works in any browser.
The app uses the PIN of your phone. If your phone has no sensor and no PIN, you cannot enable biometrics. Your sessions stay basic.
Do not give the code to anybody. Mnemonica never asks you for it.
