Registering your Mnemonica account
Somebody has invited you to a Project. This page tells you what happens next. It takes about a minute.

To register your account you need an invitation. Mnemonica is a closed community. Somebody must invite you, and you cannot register on your own. Look in your inbox. If no invitation is there, speak to the people who expect you on the Project.
Do you already have an account? Read the sign-in guide instead.
Step by step
Choose how you register. The animations show the Mobile app.
Web app
Open the invitation
The email tells you who invited you, which Project waits for you and which company owns that Project.
Open the email on the computer that you want to use. Do not forward it to another person: the link proves that the address is yours.
Click Join Mnemonica. The link opens in your browser.
The link is valid for seven days. If it has expired, ask for a new invitation.
Read and accept the documents
There are two documents: the Terms of Use and the Privacy Notice.
- Open each document and read it to the end.
- At the bottom, flag I have read and approved for each document.
- Optional: turn on the third switch to receive Mnemonica updates.
- Click Continue.
Choose how you sign in
Select Google, Apple or email.
If you select email, click Create. Mnemonica creates the account immediately. You do not have to confirm the address again, because you opened the invitation.
If you select Google or Apple, your Mnemonica account keeps the address of the invitation. This is true also when your Google or Apple account uses a different address.
Personalise your account
This is how other people on the platform see you.
Your display name is the short name that your teammates see. Mnemonica fills it in from your first name. You can change it.
A picture is optional. Until you add one, Mnemonica shows your initials.
Protect your account
Mnemonica asks you to add a strong sign-in method. This takes a few seconds. You can click Later, but then you cannot open Strong Projects.
Some Projects are marked Strong. Their creators decided that an email link, Google or Apple is not enough to open them, not even to watch. If you were invited to a Strong Project, protect your account now.
Mnemonica asks: Is this your personal computer?
- Click Yes, only I use it if nobody else signs in to this computer with your account. Mnemonica then offers to create a passkey. Use the way you unlock your device: fingerprint, face or PIN.
- If the computer cannot keep a passkey, Mnemonica asks you to install the Mnemonica app and scan a QR code.
- Click No, others use it too on a shared computer. Mnemonica saves nothing on it. Use the Mnemonica app to scan a QR code, or use a security key.
Your strong method is active at once.
Add a second strong method
Optional, but we recommend it.
Mnemonica offers you the Mnemonica app. The app sends a notification to your phone at once if somebody resets your sign-in.
You can also link your Google or Apple account on this screen. This gives you a faster way to sign in, but not a strong session.

Your Project shows on your home screen. Registration is complete.

The app keeps the key that it needs. You cannot see this key, and nobody can read it from your phone.
If your phone has no fingerprint sensor, no face unlock and no PIN, you cannot enable biometrics. Your sessions stay basic.

Questions
No. Every Mnemonica account starts from an invitation to a Project or a company. If you need one, ask the people in charge. They can send it in a few seconds.
First, look in your spam folder. Then make sure that the invitation went to the address that you are reading.
If it is still not there, ask the person who invited you to send it again. They can also correct the address if it is wrong.
An invitation link works for seven days. Ask the person who invited you to send it again.
Open any one of them. When you register once, Mnemonica accepts all the invitations for your address. All those Projects and companies are there when you sign in.
An invitation works only for the exact address that it was sent to. If you have more than one address, open the invitation from that mailbox. You can also ask for a new invitation to the address that you prefer.
An invitation is for registration, and it works one time only. If you already registered, with this invitation or with a different one to the same address, the invitation has no more use.
Sign in as you usually do. The sign-in guide tells you how.
No. Email works on its own.
A passkey also does not need Google or Apple: your laptop, your phone, a browser or a password manager can keep one.
Google and Apple are only a fast way to sign in, if you already use them. They do not replace a strong method. Only a passkey or the Mnemonica app gives you a strong session.
No. You have a basic session, which is sufficient for every Project that is not marked Strong.
When you open a Strong Project, Mnemonica asks you to add a strong method. You can also add one at any time in Preferences / Security. See Add a device. That is also where you link your Google and Apple accounts.
The Project is marked Strong, and it opens only to a strong session. Add a strong method when Mnemonica asks for one. The Project then opens.
Yes. You can edit your display name and picture in your profile at any time.
Your email address is your username. You change it in your preferences: see Change email address.
Then you already have an account, and this page does not apply to you. Sign-in changes for all users on 17 October 2026. The sign-in guide tells you what changes.
