Purposes

In Mnemonica, Team Members access and manage all the Screening Rooms of a Project. Guests can only access specific Screening Rooms, upon invitation, with read-only permissions. Collaborative Rooms close this gap. They let a Guest fully manage content in a Screening Room without access to the other Rooms.

There are two types:

  • Collaborative Standard (Bins only indexing)
  • Collaborative Dailies (Days and Bins indexing)

The typical use case: you need to collect files continuously from external parties (for example DIT, data managers, VFX, audio people) and you must prevent them from accessing the entire Project.

How they work

In a Collaborative Room, a Guest has the same power over media as a Team Member. After you invite a Guest to the Room in the usual way, the Guest can:

In a Collaborative Room, a Guest cannot invite other Guests.

Status and watermark

Because Guests have these powers, a Collaborative Room does not need a Room status. A Collaborative Room is always enabled.

Watermarking works as in other Rooms. On the Room card, click the options button (⋮), select Watermark..., then select Burned-in Watermark... or Overlay Watermark....

Notifications

In normal Screening Rooms, only Guests get notifications for new content. In Collaborative Rooms, Team Members get them too.
