Screening Rooms are made for audiovisual footage (video, audio, and images). A Room can host every kind of file, but Mnemonica does not preview non-audiovisual files.
A Screening Room can host original files with their streaming proxy versions.
If Mnemonica Gate is correctly installed and running, it takes care of any upload task.
To upload media to a Screening Room:
Enter the Room
Enter the Screening Room.
Choose the files
Click the add button (+) on the Media Pool toolbar. Choose the files to upload from your local drives.
Choose the destination
In the next dialog, choose a destination Day if the Room is a Dailies Room. If you want, choose a destination Bin.
Uploading folders
With Mnemonica Gate, you can upload nested folders to Screening Rooms and Boxes. In Screening Rooms, Mnemonica discards the folder structure and places all the media together in the chosen position.
Upload errors
If an error occurs during the upload or the processing after it, you must remove the partial entries in the Media Pool or in the Box attachments list. A problem that occurs after the upload is an internal Mnemonica error. To check network-related upload issues, see the upload pop-up.
Illegal characters
Depending on your operating system, avoid some special characters in file names. Illegal characters can cause internal server errors and can void the uploading session.
Do not use these characters in file names:
; : / \ ? " ' < > * =
When you upload, Mnemonica automatically filters out all invisible files whose names begin with a full stop (for example, .DS_Store files).
