Use Mnemonica in a browser at 100% zoom. Higher or lower zoom settings can affect usability. For the supported browsers, see System requirements.
The User Interface is made up of a few recurring objects. The layout of the objects can vary with your browser and screen resolution. The sections below describe each object.
The top navigation bar
This is the global navigation bar. It is always at the top of the Mnemonica UI. It carries information and commands for the entire Mnemonica environment.
The top bar has these items, from left to right:
- The name of the Project you are in. Click it to open a list of your recent Projects and a link to View all projects.
- The Project settings (gear icon). Only Managers see it.
- The Project's usage figures (stats icon). Only Managers see it.
- The Project's info (info icon)
On the right side of the top bar, you find:
- What's new (megaphone icon): news and updates from Mnemonica
- The Notifications panel (bell icon)
- The Uploads panel (cloud icon). It shows the uploads in progress.
- The Gate menu (Gate icon). It has the commands Show Gate, Pair Gate, Download Gate and Troubleshooting.
- The Hub side panel (hub icon)
The bottom navigation bar
The bottom bar has links to the main Mnemonica modules in the current Project. The links depend on the type of Project and on your role.
In a Production Project, a Manager sees:
- Dashboard (the Project Dashboard)
- Screening Rooms
- Sharing Boxes
- Team management (to manage the people who access all resources)
- Guests management (to manage the people who access only specific resources)
In an Archive Project, a Manager sees:
- Dashboard
- Works
- Deliveries
- Gallery
- Rooms
- Team
- Guests
Other roles see fewer links. For the complete list, see About Roles.
The Guests link is contextual. When you are in a Screening Room, it opens the audience management of that Room.
The User menu
To open the User menu, click your avatar on the left of the bottom bar. The menu has these items:
- Preferences
- Company (if any)
- Support request form
- Help (link to this User Guide)
- Logout command.
In a Project, a small role badge on your avatar shows your role in the Project. For example, M is Manager:
- M = Manager
- O = Operator
- P = Power Guest (Archive Projects)
- G = Guest
Lists
Mnemonica has a list-based UI. Depending on the page, a list can have one of two layouts:
- Cards or thumbnails
- Table list
Where possible, you can switch between the two layouts at any time.
You can often filter the elements of a list. To learn how, see Filtering and sorting lists.
Lists are almost everywhere: Projects, Rooms, Media, Days, Bins, Users, Groups of users, and more.
Every list has a toolbar and a footer.
Toolbars
The list toolbars are under the top bar. Depending on the page, a toolbar can have:
- Action buttons
- Filtering options
- Sorting options
- Information about the content below
Footers
The footer of a list shows the count of the selected items. It can also show other information.
In the Media Pool, the footer also shows the media runtime of the Room.
The options button
You find the options button (⋮) all over the User Interface of Mnemonica. It opens local menus and action shortcuts. Some of them become visible only when the mouse pointer is over the object.
UI and Roles
The roles have substantial differences in capabilities. The basic structure of the UI is the same for all roles. Some details change with your role in the Project.
Multiple selections
To select an element in a list, click it. To deselect it, click it again.
Where permitted, select multiple items with Ctrl/Cmd-click or Shift-click. You can also drag and select multiple items. Keep ALT / Option pressed while you drag the mouse.
On the mobile app, long-tap an element of a list to activate multiple selections.
Screening Rooms
A Screening Room has much information attached to it, and the page shows some of it. The multi-colored icons on the Room card show the Room status, the properties and the family links.
Drag and drop
Wherever a list of objects (Rooms, clips, Days, Bins, Guests, Groups, and more) is shown, you can act on the objects by dragging them. Drag them over other objects, or over the drop areas that appear at the bottom of the screen when you start to drag items.
